Packing my suitcase

Though I don't fly to S. Africa until Saturday, today I packed my suitcase.  This  trip is beginning to seem very real and it both thrills and scares me.  It is the dead of winter down there;  it could be cold and rainy or it could be warm and sunny.   I hope I'm prepared for whatever happens.

After reading intensely about recent history, I am eager to just get there and see with my own eyes.

Preparations for the trip

The trip to Capetown, South Africa grows closer.  Today I got an itinerary for the Tremendous Hearts tour/training that I am going over to take.  Last Sunday, a group of the South Africa Ministry team from First Congregational Church Berkeley met with me to share their stories from when they were there and to bless me for the trip.  I received their prayers for courage, for not ever feeling alone, for wisdom to know when to rest, for joy, for openness to receive each day - each one will be different and many more.  I feel held and surrounded and protected by an energy field of love.

In three weeks I will fly off to this adventure.  In the meantime, we leave tomorrow morning for a series of happy experiences East--hiking in the Rockies, then a time in E. Lansing with the family, eelebrating Erika's 8th birthday, then a week at Chautauqua and finally a family reunion on Mackinac Island.  I am truly blessed.
